Welcome to Mountain Aspirations. We provide rock climbing and mountaineering instruction and courses in the Peak District and throughout the United Kingdom.
We deliver professional courses designed to meet your needs, from beginner to the more experienced. Mountain Aspirations provide instruction and guiding in rock climbing, scrambling, hill walking and navigation.
Learning to lead, improvised rescue, technical scrambling or micro navigation, we can deliver a course that won't compromise your needs or aspirations.
Rock Climbing
Mountain Aspirations offer rock climbing courses and instruction to suit a range of needs. Whether you are new to climbing, wanting to climb multi-pitch routes, progress to leading or wishing to develop your trouble shooting techniques; we are able to fulfill your aspirations. For rock climbing we use either single pitch crags of the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales, or the multi-pitch cliffs of the Lake District and Snowdonia.
We specialise in providing bespoke courses to fulfill your particular requirements. You tell us your aims, ideal location and how many days you have available and we'll design your course.
Scrambling
We also offer scrambling courses to suit a range of needs. Whether you are a hill walker aiming to find a more challenging way to a summit or a scrambler looking to tackle some more challenging routes developing your rope work skills on technical ground; we are able to fulfill your aspirations.
Technical Advice As part of our service we are able to offer consultancy and advice with reference to indoor climbing walls, ropes courses, staff training and outdoor education and act as technical adviser for licensing regulations. Clients include Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council, Hatfield Water Park Outdoor Activity Centre and The St Lawrence Academy.
Private Guiding
You maybe have a specific rock climb or scramble you wish to complete or just wish to get out climbing a whole host of routes for a day. Be it a classic rock tick in the Lake District or a collection of classic routes on the gritstone edges of the Peak District, allow us to make your dreams and aspirations a reality!
Navigation The outline listed below is an example of what we can offer. If you would like to focus on a particular skill or have a specific objective, then contact us to discuss your plans further.
Utilising the upland terrain found in the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Snowdonia or the Lake District, we can cover the use of map and compass focusing on map orientation, bearings, distance, contour interpretation, pacing and timing, macro and micro navigation, navigational strategies, relocation, bearings, pacing, timing and night navigation. Your available time will dictate the areas that we can cover.
Hillwalking
We are able to lead parties looking to undertake some classic mountain walks in the major upland areas of Great Britain including the Dark Peak, Yorkshire Dales, Lake District or North Wales. Overnight wild camping trips can also be planned and undertaken*.
